Eduardo Buchele Rodrigues

Eduardo Buchele Rodrigues is Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Saint Louis and Affiliate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Federal University of São Paulo. He graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in 1998. He did his residency in Ophthalmology at the Regional Hospital of São José in 1999-2000. He attended training in Retinal diseases at the Brazilian Center for Eye Surgery at the Federal University of Goiás in 2001. In late 2001 he moved to Germany for an internship in Retina and Doctorate at Philipps-Universitaet Marburg. Conducted training in eye tumors at Wills Eye Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University, in 2004-2005. He completed a doctorate and postdoctoral studies at the Federal University of São Paulo. It features in its curriculum the publication of 155 scientific articles in international impact journals such as Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology and Retina. He is one of the Editors of the leading international book on the use of drugs in the treatment of retinal diseases Retinal Pharmacotherapy, launched in 2010 by medical publisher Elsevier. He is Co-Editor In-Chief of the International Journal of Retina and Vitreous and Editor of the Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Retina e Vitreo. He made more than 150 presentations of papers in national and international congresses, received 19 awards in Congresses for presentation of papers including the prestigious Paul Kayser Award from the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology. He is a member of Medical Societies in the area such as SBRV, PAAO, Club Jules Gonin, CBO, AAO, SCO and Euretina. He is an affiliated member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
