PURPOSE: To evaluate the initial treatment of infectious keratitis, evolution and their correlation with laboratory tests. METHODS: 62 cases of infectious corneal ulcers seen in the Hospital do Servidor Público Estadual – São Paulo underwent Gramstaining and culture for bacterial and fungus. Treatment with fortified Cefalotine (50mg/ml) and Gentamicin (14mg/ml) or fluoroquinolone 0,3% was started.
