Graduated in medicine from the SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY OF RIO DE JANEIRO at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (1978), master’s degree in Ophthalmology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991) and doctorate in Ophthalmology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2000). He is currently Full Professor, responsible for the discipline of Ophthalmology (until 06/2018), based at the School of Medicine and Surgery of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the field of clinical surgical ophthalmology with an emphasis on glaucoma.
