Graduated in Medicine from the Fundação Faculdade Federal de Ciências Médicas de Porto Alegre (1985), Masters (1995) and Doctorate (1999) in Ophthalmology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1999), and Post-Doctorate in Medicine: Epidemiology (2014) from the Federal University of Pelotas-RS (CAPES 7 concept). Coordinator of the Specialization Course (Postgraduate “Latu Sensu”) at the Prof Ivo Corrêa Meyer Institute of Ophthalmology (since 1999). Former Full Professor at the Federal University of Pelotas, current Full Professor at the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA). Researcher at the RS Cardiology Institute/Fundação Universitária de Cardiologia (2012). He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Ophthalmology, working mainly on the following topics: clinical and surgical retina, uveitis and ocular oncology.
