Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais Medical School (UFMG) (1995-2000), Specialization in Ophthalmology from UFMG Medical School (2002-2005) and Medical Residency in Ophthalmology Hospital São Geraldo – Hospital das Clínicas da UFMG (2002-2005). He completed his PhD in Sciences Applied to Surgery and Ophthalmology by the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG (2005-2009). He completed a Post-Doctorate in Glaucoma at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center, Department of Ophthalmology, University of California San Diego (UCSD), United States (2014-2016). He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical School of UFMG, Head of the Glaucoma Service at Hospital São Geraldo – Hospital das Clínicas at UFMG and Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Ophthalmology at the Medical School of UFMG. Has experience in Medicine, with emphasis on Ophthalmology, mainly in the following topics: Cataract and Glaucoma. His research interests cover different areas of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
