Canaliculitis is a rare disorder of the lacrimal system. The authors present five cases treated at the Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu-UNESP. The findings according to the literature review are comment with considerations on the treatment performed and emphasizing that the canaliculotomy may have good results even without canaliculus sutures or stents.

This is a case report of a 45-year-old anisometropic woman with stage 2 keratoconus submitted to refractive lens exchange employing SN60T5 AcrySof Toric intraocluar lens on her left eye. Phacoemulsification followed by proper lens implantation was accomplished successfully. On postoperative period, favorable refractive and visual outcomes were obtained. The use of toric intraocular lenses may be an option in the refractive treatment of stage 2 keratoconus in selected cases.

Metastasis in choroidal melanoma is frequent on advanced diseases, involving mainly the liver, lungs and central nervous system. We report a case of cutaneous metastasis in choroidal melanoma because is an unusual condition, even in advanced disease.

The Urrets-Zavalia Syndrome presents well described ocular findings, even though its physiopathology is still unsure. Iris ischemia is the most common proposing mechanism. We describe two cases that underwent deep lamellar keratoplasty (DLK) performed by the same surgeon and developed the syndrome. In the first case, the surgical indication was for corneal opacity treatment and, in the second case, for keratoconus treatment. During the post-operatory, both patients developed fixed dilated pupil, which didn’t regress completely inspite of the onset treatment.

Case report of a 18-year-old male patient with Alport’s syndrome, who presented with renal failure and hearing loss reporting a progressive loss of vision acuity. Slitlamp examination revealed bilateral anterior lenticonus.
