DOI: 10.37039/1982.8551.20250035
ABSTRACT
Objective:
To develop and validate a Children’s Eye Care Guide for Ophthalmology courses.
Methods:
Methodological study on the development and validation of teaching material using the ADDIE instructional design. The validation phase used a panel of experts and an Educational Content Validation Instrument in Health to evaluate the content, and residents for semantic evaluation.
Results:
A Guide for children’s ophthalmological care was developed and validated, covering the topics of eye testing and stages of the ophthalmological examination: anamnesis, visual acuity, ocular motility, color vision test, biomicroscopy, tonometry, dynamic and static refraction, pupil dilation, and fundoscopy.
Conclusion:
The Guide prepared and validated for children’s ophthalmological care, with practical information for ophthalmology student doctors, should be a facilitating tool in teaching/learning, with consequent gains in children’s eye health.
