Ischemic ocular syndrome (IOS) is caused by stenosis of carotid artery. Proliferative retinopathy is one of the signs and can lead to misdiagnosis with diabetic retinopathy. IOS must be considered in case of proliferative retinopathy asymmetric and refractory to laser treatment. Carotid endarterectomy in patients with IOS with no neurologic manifestations remains controversy. This paper reported a patient with IOS simulating diabetic retinopathy and treated with endarterectomy.

A case report of a 59 years old woman who has had ocular primary melanosis for four years, associated with episodes of corneal epithelial recurrent erosions. The patient underwent resection of the affected conjunctiva, superficial keratectomy and topical mitomicin C after the surgery. The authors report a case of ocular complication, following Intense Pulsed Light for cosmetic facial treatment.The lesion was iris atrophy with a large transilumination area, posterior synechiae, deformity and reduced dilation of the pupil, on the temporal side.
