Case report of a 18-year-old male patient with Alport’s syndrome, who presented with renal failure and hearing loss reporting a progressive loss of vision acuity. Slitlamp examination revealed bilateral anterior lenticonus. The Urrets-Zavalia Syndrome presents well described ocular findings, even though its physiopathology is still unsure. Iris ischemia is the most common proposing mechanism. We describe two cases that underwent deep lamellar keratoplasty (DLK) performed by the same surgeon and developed the syndrome. In the first case, the surgical indication was for corneal opacity treatment and, in the second case, for keratoconus treatment. During the post-operatory, both patients developed fixed dilated pupil, which didn’t regress completely inspite of the onset treatment.

The aim of this report is to describe a case of iridocornel endothelial syndrome with the clinical variant essential iris atrophy, which presents concomitant congenital hypertrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium in the same eye.

The acute myopia can be caused by the use of systemic medications, such as topiramate. This study describes two cases of young patients with acute bilateral myopia induced by topiramate therapy to control depressive syndrome, making relation with similar cases described in literature and bibliographic review.

The Ectopia lentis et pupillae is a rare genetic syndrome, congenital, autosomal recessive with variable expression, characterized by ectopia of the lens and the pupil, usually bilateral and symmetrical, but without systemic manifestations. The pathogenesis of this anomaly is still unknown, but there are theories that the change is mesodermal, neuroectodermal, combined or mechanical. This article presents a clinical case of a patient with ectopia lentis et pupillae, describing its clinical and genetic aspects, secondary ocular complications and differential diagnosis.
