The acute retinal necrosis is a rare and devastating necrotizing retinitis, which can be caused by the herpes simplex virus type 1 or 2. It typically affects healthy patients of all ages. This study report a case of 18 year-old healthy male patient, with the the diagnosis of the acute retinal necrosis due to herpes simplex, and presents its clinical and ultrassonographic features. The acute retinal necrosis results in endofthalmitis because of lack of early diagnosis and therapy.

Rosai-Dorfman disease or sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy is a rare idiopathic and benign clinical entity, characterized by histiocytic proliferation with linfofagocitosis. It usually presents with cervical lymphadenopathy although extranodal involvement may occur. The orbital region is one of the most common extranodal sites. Two cases of mycosis fungoides associated with HTLV-I are reported. The ophthalmological findings were, in the first case, punctate keratopathy and keratoconjunctivitis sicca, and in the second case, keratoconjunctivitis sicca, thickening and difuse nodulos on eyelid margin. The association of mycosis fungoides and HTLV-I in these cases suggests involvement of this agent in the pathogenesis of the disease.
