Abstract

Leprosy is a disease caused by the infection of Mycobacterium leprae, which primarily affects the skin and peripheral nerves and can cause numerous alterations in the eyes. Ocular manifestations are common in the multibacillary form, especially in the virchowian type. Ocular involvement occurs in 50% of cases and can affect various structures, causing iridocyclitis, scleritis, optic neuritis, corneal hypoesthesia, and even blindness. This work is aimed at reporting the case of a patient with ocular leprosy who developed angle-closure glaucoma.
