Trata-se de um caso de ceratite bilateral e simultânea por Acremonium relacionada ao uso intermitente e sem respeitar a lateralidade O diagnóstico etiológico da miosite orbitária (MO) é desafiador. Embora ela tenha sido relacionada com doenças infecciosas prévias, doenças associadas à autoimunidade, tireoidopatias ou síndromes para neoplásicas, a maioria delas ainda permanece como idiopática. Descreve-se aqui, um caso de MO revelando o diagnóstico de doença de Behçet, doença considerada como uma causa pouco comum para este tipo de envolvimento ocular.

A doença de Lyme é uma infecção sistêmica causada pela picada do carrapato e transmissão da espiroqueta Borrelia burgdorferi. As espécies de carrapatos vetores da doença infestam, principalmente, animais silvestres, rurais e roedores que podem ser reservatórios assintomáticos da bactéria. Característica do hemisfério norte, a doença de Lyme no Brasil assume características distintas, dificultando seu diagnóstico. Esse trabalho tem por objetivo, descrever três casos da doença Lyme símile do Brasil, com achados oftalmológicos, em município do Estado da Bahia.

The etiological diagnosis of orbital myositis (OM) is a challenge. Although it has been associated with previous infectious disease, diseases with autoimmune background, thyroidopathies or with paraneoplasic syndrome, most of them still remain as idiopathic. We describe here a case of OM uncovering a Behçet disease that is considered a rare cause for this kind of eye involvement.

This article reports two cases of Straatsma Syndrome, a rare disease, emphasizing its clinical features that inclued myopia, strabismus and amblyopia associated with persistent myelinated fibers in the retina. Ophthalmic examination, color retinography and optical coherence tomography were performed.

Este artigo relata dois casos de síndrome de Straatsma, uma doença rara, enfatizando suas características clínicas que incluem miopia, estrabismo e ambliopia associada a persistência de fibras de mielina na retina. We report the case of a 31-year-old woman who presented with a nine-month history of blurred vision in her left eye. Slit-lamp examination and optical coherence tomography showed four cystic masses hanging at the pupillary margin of the left eye. We report an unusual case of a 65-year old patient that developed localized bilateral Descemet membrane detachment during non-simultaneous femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS). The detachment occurred when the laser was performing the secondary incision. In the operating room, the isolate-and-release technique was used to effectively manage this complication. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of bilateral Descemet membrane detachment during FLACS.
