PURPOSE: To present refraction results using toric intraocular lens for correcting corneal astigmatism during cataract surgery. The authors present a case of intralenticular metallic foreign body, in a metallurgist patient, with lateness diagnosis. They describe the importance of clinical exame, the surgical technical that was used to remove the foreign body of the crystalline and necessity to divulge and promote preventive ways at the occupational and domestical ambients.

A 34-year-old white man presented with a sudden unilateral recurrent visual loss. Fundus examination and fluorescein angiography revealed severe retinal vein occlusion. An antiphospholipid syndrome was discovered during etiological check up. A mutation of Leiden V factor was discovered and the patient started long term anticoagulation after the second occlusive event. We report two cases of orbital fat prolapse. One associated with Graves’ ophthalmopathy. Both patients presented similar clinical exams and an increase in intraorbital fat as seen in computerized orbital tomography. The patient with Graves’ ophthalmopathy also presented an increased volume in orbital muscles in the tomography. This work seeks to include Graves’ ophthalmopathy as differential diagnosys for Orbital fat prolapse.

The author presents his arguments to state that the Duane’s syndrome type III of the Huber’s classification does not exist. He takes the chance of those arguments to show why the medial rectus muscle recession in Duane’s syndrome with esotropia cripples the adduction more that it does in esotropias of other origins. He shows also why one must recess also the sound eye’s medial rectus in Duane’s syndrome with esotropia.
