PURPOSE: To report the profile of Coats’ disease patients, referred to exclude retinoblastoma. METHODS: Retrospective study of medical charts from ten consecutive patients. The eyeball luxation is a dramatic phenomenon in which there is a forward displacement of the eyeball so that the eyelids spasmodically close behind it. There are many risk factors, non-related to trauma, but orbital contusions with optic nerve and extraocular muscles involvement carry the worst prognosis.
